So I'm considering becoming a corporate bitch. I've recently received a reasonable offer from an advertising company who specialise in webcomics. Their pay rates aren't bad - and they do it per pageview, rather than per click. I've calculated that from the number of views I get per day, the income would more than cover the running costs of this site (not that high really, Bluelinux are a good company :) The advert network is already with a few good comics - including Real Life.

I'd be required to have a banner at the top of the site, and possibly a longer one at the side. I also get to opt out of certain adverts (in my case, since I find them incredibly annoying, I would opt out of *all* adverts that contain sound, and that expand when you move the mouse over them)

What do people think about this? Would it annoy you greatly to have a 468x60 banner at the top of the page?

Angband fanart
Posted by calamarain

At the suggestion of Irashta, of WorldIRC's #angband (I chat there), my next bit of fanart was the three 'thanc daggers from Angband :)

Couple more fractals - The Magic Man and Winter Chills

Other than that - life continues as normal. So for those of you waiting for something interesting to report... you're out of luck. The most interesting thing that's happened lately is my fifth Nethack ascension and my loss of a very promising mid-level character in NPPAngband.

Another little dabble in the realm of fractal making. A friend of mine kindly pointed out some options in Ultrafractal that I didn't know existed, and thus this little piece was made.

Julia's Windows.

I'm really getting the hang of Nethack. Another ascension, a samurai this time. Not bothering with a chardump.

Yet another Nethack ascension. My second :) Means I get the Birdie trophy in the tournament, for ascending one character of each gender.

More Nethack fanart - The Amulet of Yendor

EDIT - someone pointed out that the amulet is made of mithril, in the source. Therefore, here's a new version from a different angle with a few other minor changes... made from mithril - Redux

Deeper meaning and Nethack
Posted by Administrator

For those who asked... no there isn't a deeper meaning to this comic RGA (Arjeeaye) is a random set of syllables.

I've also been participating in and enjoying the June Nethack tournament, as stated in a previous entry. I was enjoying it, and I needed a new mini-project. Seeing that the original devnull tournament has trophies to be awarded, I thought that I'd do some artwork for the trophies for this tournament. And they're finally finished. I'm quite proud of them.

Enter the tournament. You might win one of these fine babies. Plus Nethack, like Angband, rocks.

Nethack again
Posted by Administrator

Oh yes, and for those of you who play - Eidolos is organising a Nethack tournament. The "official" one is in November, but since that's only once a year, more tournaments are welcome. Participations been quite good - more info is here...

Far quicker than I expected, thanks to the helpful people of #nethack on freenode. Completed it as a Valkyrie, with three conducts intact :)

Dump is at Calamarain's last game

Now, I just need to complete normal Angband :P

Also, more art done in the form of Continuum

There's evidently something about the Angband Etiquette guide, because this is the second guest strip I've received on the subject :)

I'm flattered of course. It just surprises me that it's one of the themes taken to heart. Thanks again :)
